FOLA ORGANIC SHOP
Mr Ngoran Wirdzenyuy is the force behind the initiative called Fola Organic Shop.
In this brief interview with the press recently in his Bamenda office he intimated that this initiative was inspired by the fact that everyone was now keen on going Bio.
Fola Organics which runs an Organic Shop in Bamenda, Cameroon deals in a number of products which are all natural with very impressive health advantages.
Honey….
Fola Organic Shop has pure White Honey from Oku. This honey is harvested from plants found uniquely around Lake Oku in Bui Division, in the North West Region of Cameroon.
The shop also has the normal Brown Honey as well as the Stingless Bee Honey which is gotten from the ground.
Stingless Bees usually build cavities in the ground and deposit their honey in these cavities. It is from these cavities that the honey is tapped. When these cavities are located, they are dug and the honey tapped from them. “Stingless Bee Honey is very medicinal. It is the most medicinal honey so to speak. Back in the villages where I come from mothers usually use it to cure Mouth Thrush in children.
Severely sick people suffering from Mouth Thrush can also lick it up or drink it and it will heal them. Mouth Thrush manifests like sores in the mouth.
Stingless Bee Honey is also important in enhancing blood circulation when consumed. It helps to improve upon your libido and also lowers blood sugar and blood pressure and cures sores and ulcers. It is an anti-inflammatory, an antioxidant, a detoxifier and fights against ageing.
The peculiarity of White Honey Mr Wirdzenyuy intimated is that it is snow white and is harvested only from the medicinal plants and trees around Lake Oku.
Honey constitutes a very good alternative in our efforts to shift away from the sugar that is consumed every day with it’s multiple adverse health effects.
All the honey that Fola Organic Shop has is natural. Honey in general is an antioxidant. “As we are ageing, the body produces free radicals and that’s why illnesses increasingly come up as we are ageing. Antioxidants help us to reduce these ageing effects. Honey has antiseptic properties and has rejuvenating effects on the skin.”
Commenting on the problem of adulterated honey flooding the market, the CEO of Fola Organic Shop said this has been the worry of many consumers of honey in Cameroon. He however said Fola Organics has provided a solution to that problem.
“Honey has its characteristics and there are many ways of testing to know whether honey is good or bad. The first sign is the bee itself and if you have good honey, bees will always hover around it. Secondly, Natural Honey has a unique smell. Thirdly, natural honey can also be tested in a glass of water. If you drop it in a glass of water it goes down in strands and settles at the bottom of the glass. Some people test it locally by deeping a stick of match in it and striking it. After doing this, if you strike it and it doesn’t light then it’s not good honey. He further explained that some people use plain white sheet papers to test the quality of honey. To know good honey, when you put some of it on the paper, it should not get wet on the other side.
Fola Organic Shop distributes Brown Honey and Stingless Bee Honey mostly in one liter and 20 liter containers depending on the orders received from customers.
Because of the semi-solid nature of White Honey, it is distributed in cups of 1 kilograms. Depending on the quantity needed, White Honey can also be packaged in 30 liter bucket like containers.
“The honey marketed by Fola Organic Shop is pure and natural. We can guarantee very huge supplies and our manner of supply is determined by the quantity and location of the client. There are as such multiple ways of delivery depending on the destination and the quantity.
Natural Teas……
Fola Organic Shop also has Natural (Bio) Teas. There is the Ginger Powder Tea, Moringa Leaves Tea(in powder form), Garlic Powder, Ginseng Powder and Turmeric Powder.
These products have very powerful healing Properties. Moringa for example is known to cure many illnesses. Turmeric is a very powerful antibiotic and detoxifier. It detoxifies the Liver and the kidneys. Ginger like Turmeric has also been known recently for its antibiotic properties just like Garlic. Ginseng is known for its enhancing effects on blood circulation.
The medicinal Properties of these powders Mr Ngoran emphasises, are enormous.
They are packaged in Kilograms, cups and bottles. Packaging here is dictated by the quantity being bought.
Medicinal Oils..
Castor Oil. This comes from the Castor plant and is very medicinal.
There is the Palm Kennel Oil locally referred to in Cameroon as Manyanga Oil. There is the Black variety as well as the white variety. While the Black variety is widely known and used in parts of West and Central Africa due to its spiritual properties, the white variety is dominantly used for skin care.
